An Interview with CHYNA

Mike: What do you think about Paper Doll?

Chyna: I think it is beautiful. I can’t really believe it’s me when I look at it! A book is a really special thing! To accomplish that alone in one’s lifetime is really an amazing experience. Doing Paper Doll is a combination of many art forms for me. It is multilayered, complex, meaningful and beautiful. It is a lifetime achievement. I love it.

Mike: What is the history behind how Paper Doll came into being?

Chyna: When I was a little girl, one of my favorite books was a paper doll book. I had many of them. They were hours of fun and fashion. Another book was a pop up Kodak camera book. I also loved the fairy tale books. Put them all together with some mature content and some lifetime memories, and writing….you get Paper Doll.

Mike: Can you talk about your art director and photographer Emillio O.?

Chyna: Emillio and I clicked immediately from the moment we met. He is my friend. He sees me and he knows me so he can capture the big picture within the lens of the camera. We work so well together. He has an amazing talent of fashion and style. I knew from the first time that I saw his drawings that I wanted to wear every one of his masterpieces!!!! He has a brilliant eye for fashion. He is destined to do great things in that world. We had the vision for Paper Doll.

Mike: What are your other plans for Paper Doll, and the color edition? How are you working on new shoots and where will they be?

Chyna: The color edition of Paper Doll brings a brand new chapter to my future. I see perfume in some pictures, cosmetics possibly, and of course fashion. Being a fashion muse is a girl’s dream come true, besides maybe, Cinderella…perfumes….being the face of many ideas in these photos is amazing. I hope it sparks interest for many, many beautiful things, beautiful people, and exotic locations.

Mike: What other plans do you have for the future?

Chyna: I would like to fall madly in love, travel, have some great holidays. Happy plans for the future; sailing, horses, good food, wine, music, flowers and stars. I like to entertain, however I appreciate the arts and being entertained as well. Do you plan those things? I am a dreamer, although that is a very practical, ideal and comfortable place for me.

Mike: Can I ask you about your wrestling career? How do you move the way you do? How do you spin 300 men around in a ring like they are silly puddy in your hands? Basically how is it possible to be so awesome?

Chyna: I am technically trained by the most awesomest men in the world!

Mike: What is the name of your dog?

Chyna: My Applehead long hair Chihuahua’s name is Honeysuckle Hunny Bunny.

Mike: What are your goals as an artist?

Chyna: When you are an artist, a true artist, you just feel it. That one project comes along that you have been trying to do forever and you can’t quite put your finger on it……you just tap in to the project you are doing. It is so in writing, painting, acting, music, sculpting (for me, my body)…something clicks. It is not mechanical and very difficult to explain. Artists are very complicated. Very rare.

Mike: What is your favorite food?

Chyna: I love spinach! Tomatoes! Hummus. All vegetables and fruit. Raw and cooked! Sushi. I must admit I love a great cheeseburger, fries, onion rings and pizza with all the toppings too! I also love strawberry Twizzlers, HARIBO gummy baren un shwartze katz, Jujy Fruits, Jujy Bees, giant gum balls…and giant swirly lollipops!

Mike: Do you like vegetables?

Chyna: I absolutely love vegetables. When I was a girl I spent many a day in some apple orchards, strawberry fields……I loved it! If I was near vegetables…..I would probably eat everything.

Mike: What’s your favorite color?

Chyna: I think pink is my favorite color, but I also do love lavendar. So pink and white…like the color of cherry blossoms, and purple like lilac and lavender blue.

Mike: What is your favorite movie?

Chyna: Moulin Rouge. I have many on my list…Casino, Forrest Gump, Lion King, Pulp Fiction.
