Chyna became famous for rising to the top of Sports Entertainment and becoming the only female Intercontinental Champion in professional wrestling history. She has been in the ring and stood toe-to-toe with all the greats including The Rock, Stone Cold, Kane, Chono, The Great Muta and all in between. Chyna has established herself as an icon in the world of wrestling.

Outside of wrestling she has been working hard at establishing herself on her own in the world of Hollywood. Already she has been the host of several big name shows on AMC, E! and TNN. She has also been a featured guest on entertainment news shows such as "Entertainment Tonight", "E! News", "Larry King", "Inside Edition", "Dr. Keith Ablow", "Access Hollywood" and "The Tyra Banks Show". She is a favored guest on radio shows like, "Xtreme Mayhem" and "Howard Stern" where she has appeared as a guest over seven times. Laurer is also accomplishing her original goals of being a movie star. Since her departure from wrestling she has been in eight feature films including; "On the Line" (2001), a Playboy documentary (2002), Touchstone Pictures "Frank McKlusky CI" (2002), "Brown Sugar" (2002), "The Romp" (2003), "Hunter Back In Force" (2003), "Just Another Romantic Wrestling Comedy" (2006), ""Illegal Aliens" (2007) and "The Cougar Club" (2007/TBA).

Chyna has evolved into music and fashion too. In 2002 she was a runway model for Layne Bryant's Fall Fashion Show working along side models like Anna Nicole Smith and Meya Tyler. In 2005 she walked the runway with models Kim Coles and Janice Dickinson in the Celebrity catwalk for Charity. She has done several magazine photoshoots for magazines such as "Steppin' Out", "Time Out New York", "World of Wrestling", "Rampage", "FHM", "People", "TV Guide", "Playboy" and most recently "Details" magazine. In addition she has worked with music stars from all over including Indian Pop Star Reggie Benjamin who recorded his first American CD, "2X Centrix" with Chyna in 2003. In 2004 the duo released their CD single, "Ride" and recently Chyna was the special guest bass guitar player in Plastic Jones' song, "Your Words".

Despite all of her success after wrestling Chyna today is still fighting with her past, a past full of domestic violence and abuse. In 2002 she entered a highly public relationship with former wrestling star Sean Waltman. According to Laurer their relationship started off great, but by spring 2003 after doing a major TV media tour Chyna had seemingly disappeared from the spotlight until a 2003 police report surfaced claiming Laurer had taken out a restraining order on Waltman saying Sean had assaulted her. In the report filed by the L.A.P.D Chyna had visible bruises on her face, arms and neck.

Waltman denied her claims and still denies them to this day. During the time they were together fans, friends and observers noticed Laurer seemed to be mentally and emotionally spiraling out of control. Rumors of Laurer having an alcohol dependency as a result of Waltman's abuse had surfaced and reports of Sean Waltman's alleged cocaine addiction provided potential insight into this volatile relationship. More reports of abuse would later surface. Rumors of Laurer being seen in public with bruises would rise and the world got to see Waltman's mental abuse towards Laurer on an episode of "Surreal Life season 4".

Today Chyna is free of Sean Waltman. The two have been split for over two years but the emotional effects of the relationship are still effecting Chyna today.

Refusing to stay a victim she has become a domestic violence activist and is a supporter of many domestic violence shelters including Shelter From the Storm, which is the largest domestic violence shelter in America. She has also done several interviews encouraging people who maybe in violence relationships to seek help.

For Chyna surviving her past has been difficult but she has survived the most difficult, most violent times in her life and has become an even bigger inspiration to women and men across the world showing that you can overcome anything you set out to do and that you can take control of your future by overcoming your past.

Currently Chyna is back to work in Hollywood promoting the release of her new movie, "Illegal Aliens" which will be out in stores on May 22,2007. She is VH1's most valuable star constantly appearing on the network's top shows, she is currently working on several TV projects and can be seen later this year as a featured star in Faye Dunaway's new film, "The Cougar Club".
